Immaculate Construction

Immaculate Construction

Milton, a cat, was walking along some train tracks in the forest. These particular train tracks were one of the great unknown mysteries of the world. No one, nowhere, knew anything at all about where these train tracks came from, where they went, or who built them. Heck, no one had ever even seen or heard of a train that traversed these tracks. Yet despite all the questions, here were these train tracks right in the middle of the forest,

Milton walked along these tracks daily and would often wonder what the mystery could be. He never walked so far along the tracks to see the start, or the end as it were. There were no clues at all. No signs. No nothing.

Milton’s greatest dream was that one day he would be walking on the tracks and off in the distance the faint sound of a rumbling locomotive would emerge and then get closer and closer. Once it was close enough Milton would jump on the train, talk to the conductor, get the full 411 on this whole deal, then kindly ask the conductor to chug backwards a bit so Milton wouldn’t have to walk back so far to her home.

(Milton had heard a rumor that trains could go backwards. But she wasn’t sure if that was true or just a tall tale, another mystery of the rails.)

There must be an explanation for these train tracks. Milton had thought of so many things. They couldn’t have just been added by some divine spirit, could they? An Immaculate Construction? No, it couldn’t be. What would be the purpose of train tracks in the middle of the forest? What is the lesson? What knowledge is to be gleaned from these tracks?

So Milton decided, he would sit and wait.
He would be the one to solve the mystery of the train tracks.
Even if it took him forever he would figure out their deal.
For now, he didn’t have a plan
But he had time
So he sat
And he waited.
For something to happen
Ready to wait
For as long as it took
To finally got some answers
“‘Cuz it’s my right,
To know the truth,
‘Gah Damnit!
Cuz train tracks can’t just go nowhere
And be from nowhere
How does that make sense?
It don’t ‘Gah Damnit!
That’s how.
How deep does this go?
We’re all being lied to,
The truth will come out
When?
Eventually!!
But my eyes
Are already open
‘Gah Damnit!!!”
